We know these agreements will affect families for generations. Our role is to educate, guide, and protect local landowners so they don’t leave money on the table or give away long-term rights without knowing the consequences.
With Ohio Energy Advocates by your side, you’re not alone against multi-billion-dollar operators, you have experienced negotiators ensuring your family and your land receive the value and respect they deserve.
Ohio Energy Advocates connects landowners to a competitive, open bidding network where multiple oil and gas entities compete for their acreage. Instead of accepting the first offer or negotiating in isolation, landowners gain access to a curated pool of serious oil and gas companies—including Institutional Mineral Funds, Family Offices, Limited Partnerships, Public Operators, Private Operators, and Regional Independents.
This competitive environment drives stronger offers, cleaner lease terms, and greater transparency. By standardizing protections like gross royalty, non-surface use, and pugh clauses, OEA ensures every bid reflects fair value and long-term security.
When Oil and Gas Companies Compete, Landowners Win.

Hi, we’re the Sevek Family. Our family has lived in and owned property for decades in Columbiana, Carroll, Jefferson, Noble, Mahoning, and Stark Counties. As landowners, we’ve experienced firsthand the opportunities and challenges that come with leasing property for oil and gas development. In Carroll, Jefferson, Noble, Mahoning, and Southern Columbiana Counties, our family has farmland and property inside active drilling units. Recently, EOG Resources, a publicly traded company based in Houston Texas, purchased Encino Energy’s Ohio assets. At the same time, many other large companies are actively pursuing new leases and agreements throughout our region.
Grant graduated from the University of Mount Union with a degree in Business Administration and played baseball, while Molly attended Stark State College in North Canton. Together, we have many years of experience working in the oil and gas industry.
After graduating in 2009, Grant began his career as a title and leasing landman with Chesapeake Energy, and since then we’ve worked with many major oil and gas companies nationwide. Our experience includes helping grow private equity–backed operators in Eastern Ohio as well as working with some of the largest publicly traded oil and gas companies in the country.
Our Mission
These experiences have given us a unique perspective on what landowners truly need to protect their land, legacy, and financial future. Our mission is simple:
To help and educate local landowners so they can confidently navigate oil and gas agreements, secure the best possible terms, and protect their rights and property for generations to come.
We believe landowners deserve fair compensation, strong environmental protection, and clear, enforceable terms. With our combination of industry experience, personal landowner perspective, and local commitment, we’re here to guide our neighbors through every step of the process and ensure they get the value and protection they deserve.
